Adventure by canoe or kayak
Rent a canoe or kayak and set off on an adventure. You can rent equipment at places like Vaxholms Kanotklubb on Eriksö and the Skärgårdens Kanotcenter near Engarn. Great paddling destinations include Lillskär and Storskär – small islands close enough to reach, yet far enough to feel like a true adventure. Vaxholms Kanotklubb also offers a mega-SUP, big enough for the whole family. With a bit of balance and lots of laughter, it’s a paddling experience you’ll all remember.
Play at Lägret
The playground at Lägret is a must-visit. Here you’ll find everything from slides to climbing structures, along with benches where you can enjoy a coffee break while the kids run wild. From the pink activity boxes by Piffl, equipment for games like table tennis, boules, beach tennis, and giant Yatzy can be rented.
Swimming and fun at Eriksö
Eriksö is a popular outdoor recreation area offering swimming, play and adventure for all ages. Enjoy sandy beaches, rocky shoreline swimming and beautiful archipelago surroundings. There is also a playground, canoe rental, the Skypark adventure park, scenic walking and jogging trails, padel courts, a sauna and a kiosk.
Bike around Rindö
Explore Rindö by bike. Pack some snacks and swimwear, and hop on the ferry to the island. Follow the Militärvägen and discover the fortress Byviksfortet. Along the way, stop to visit the sheep, goats, and horses – and maybe take a dip at Måldepån. Enjoy a fika at Ostmakeriet or settle in by Oskar-Fredriksborg to watch ferries and boats glide past.
